Hannah Haws

Board Member at Large

My name is Hannah Haws and there are so many reasons why I am glad to be a member of the Forest Lake Area Good Samaritans!

I am a Forest Lake Native, growing up in area and graduating FLAHS class of 2003. I returned to Forest Lake with my family in 2017 after several years out of state.  My husband, Ryan, and I have three boys: two that are school-aged and one little brother. Ryan and I went to college at Hamline University under the belief that you do all the good you can in all the ways you can (find the full quote below!) and enjoy carrying this statement with us as we raise our children.

One of my favorite ways to pay it forward are via our Bus Driver Appreciation events.  My children and I love treating our bus drivers to a special treat. It is this event that introduced me to the board members of the FLAGS! What if we all came together? We could do so much more… And we have!

Our family also looks forward the annual Cleanest City in America Challenge. You never know what you’ll find during this Earth-Day themed event! Our first year of participating in the challenge, my oldest son  was driven to fill as many bags of trash as we could. He insisted on holding onto a few things he found .. at least until I could find a way to recycle them appropriately .. one being an old broken laptop and the other an old camera body!

The Forest Lake Area Good Samaritans have many ways for families to get engaged in the community whether it be through donation or acts of service. Being able to contribute as a board member is a special bonus. You never know when you will need the support of your community or the benefit of seeing a friendly face in a crowd.

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.
